I bought one when Target had it on sale for $99 (plus $20 rebate). The rebate was fast and the customer support has been stellar (believe it or not). I had a hardware failure and they didn't even make me send back the bad one -- they just shipped me a replacement.

I highly recommend the microsoft package.

What SteveS said is one of the reasons why I love Microsoft hardware - usually very quick, and with the exception of the XBox (for obvious reasons) they don't make you send back the old hardware.

I bought the base station about 3 weeks ago - have had no problem with it whatsoever. I kind of wish I had the MS USB brand adapter but the one I have now was pretty cheap. This is a sweet @$$ deal

No, the case isn't metal like I would have liked (ah, those were the days, like one year ago), but the router is very easy to configure and I've never had to do a hard reset (pulling the plug) on this router, while I've had numerous problems with my d-link di711 router. I even had to get it replaced recently because the power supply blew on it after less than a year. Also, the MS base station works easily either as a router or access point/bridge. I get excellent reception with it throughout my apt., too.

I would consider getting another one in case I need to do a wireless bridge setup sometime. Also, I believe that you can get up to 3 rebates for this. It's the same rebate that I filled out about 2 months ago. Again, it's been that long so correct me if I'm wrong.

Can this base station be used as a wireless bridge or does it have to be wired into the network to act as the bridge? I need a wireless bridge if anyone knows of a good one, I'd appreciate the advice.

My local Target had the Microsoft Wireless Base Station for $79.99 and the Wireless USB Desktop Adapter for $59.99. Is this the same thing you're talking about in this thread? Looks like the Microsoft rebate would be $20 for each of the 2 items, making the total approx. $100 before tax. Does this sound right?

Nope, two different things ... I believe they're referring to the MN-610 which for $60 after $20 MIR is VERY HOT!!!

My target had the same as yours. No wireless kit. Grats to those who were fortunate to pick one up. I'll probably just get in on the Netgear MR-814 deal at Staples.

try in the clearance sections. usually, these kits are not close to the regular priced ones.. target usually moves them

My apologies, it appears to be neither.

Read this, it appears to be "Accton" brand. I don't know if the model being discussed in this particular thread is also Accton, but I would assume so.

Well I went back and walked around the store, didn't see any clearance sections with them. Ahh well, would have been the perfect kit for my gf, with the router and usb adapter. Hopefully this is another deal on this in the future.

[The Microsoft Broadband Wireless networking is top notch, 100% highly recommended. They're actually rebadged Linksys which is > D-Link.

I agree I have installed 6 of these and I have had better performance than some of the SMC or D-link D-614+ wireless routers I have installed. Have not had any go dead on me either..Good find I will have fight the crowds done there to check it out...
