This is an email I just received from one of the ezines I enjoy reading
(he sends out an assortment of interesting quotes regularly)
This just goes to show that we shouldn't take things for granted
(especially our loved ones) cause we never know when the hammer may fall

Also some good advice on the wisdom of drinking and driving
<<I'm sure many have wondered where I have been since taking
the week off to move to a new house. Last week my oldest son
Nathan was involved in a car accident outside of town along
with four of his friends. With a heavy heart I pass on that he did
not survive the accident. He was only 17 years old and a senior
in high school. We had planned on taking his senior pictures
the day after his sudden loss.
Also lost shortly after the accident was his girlfriend Jess, a mere
18 years old. We found out from his friends that she was actually
his fiancé, only a week before they had made the decision to get
married and had yet to tell his mother & myself. Nathan and Jess
had already made many plans for their future. They spent so much
time together during their relationship and were sure to have many
happy years ahead. They have now moved on together and will
remain so through eternity.
Nathan was a great joy to be around and taught me as much about
being a father as I taught him about becoming a young man. He
was a talented artist and writer and might have made it his career
in the coming years.
The driver of the car, Brady, also passed a couple days after the
crash. Thankfully there were two survivors, though battered and
bruised, who have been given a second chance. We are thankful
for the tremendous support from our community, family and friends.
Please take a moment and talk with your loved ones about the
dangers of drinking and driving. Even if they have heard it many
times before we can never reinforce it enough. In this way some
good can be found in this tragedy.
For those wishing to send cards/sentiments you can use the
postal address below, which can be used for correspondence
now or in the future. I will continue to be away for a short time
while our family attempts to come to terms with our loss.
