The wife wasn't familiar with Ladera, but agrees about anything St Lucia is nice.

I'm a Barbados fan myself, but have only been there once, and was long ago.

I guess we've been spoiled over time, the wife used to be a travel agency manager that specialized in cruises so we've bee on many all over the Caribbean, and Alaska.

We've never hit Europe, I asked her flat out what she would do for a Honeymoon these days and was something along a Viking River Cruise, you can do France, Germany, Amsterdamn, Switzerland, but pricey but they supposed to be good.

That and would be a bit cold for what you have in mind anyways, and would take about 6 grand just to do it I guess she says minimum.

For an all inclusive she recommended Sandals in St. Lucia is supposed to be fantastic, if you want to sit static and do things in one spot.

One of the big ships like Oasis of the Seas, with a nice cabin would be kinda cool too, have been on it before and fun.

We did our honeymoon in Tahiti/French Polynesia. Couple days in one of those overwater bungalows and then a 10 day cruise to many of the islands. For those who prefer to move around and see new things it is hard to beat. We did a jeep tour of Moorea, snorkeling and jet skiing around Bora Bora, explored the beaches of Raiitea, etc.

A 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise would be my recommendation. Just not during the summer or spring break.

they aren't going to be going to the french polynesia and stay in overwater bungalos for $6k. i only know this because i've priced it out before and it is on my wife and my bucket list heh.

Is that an all inclusive resort ?

Wife says the prices look pretty impressive and looks a fantastic spot to me if it is.

Looks a pretty nice spot for a Honeymoon even if it isn't.

There is an all inclusive option. I recommend taking it as the resort is on the southwestern part of the island and is not terribly close to other restaurants. The resort restaurant (Dashene) is fantastic and well worth the price.

Thanks for all of the help and suggestions. After long deliberation we decided on Couples Resort Negril. We had both been to Jamaica last spring on a short cruiseline excursion and have really wanted to return to explore the island a little more. Since my fiances friend is a travel agent, she found a really good all inclusive deal that was just too hard to pass up compared to other options.

Wife and I did the Dominic Republic for our honeymoon. We really liked it and your money will go very far there.

Two of my friends just got back from there honeymoon there. I believe the all-inclusive 4 nights (maybe more) is in the neighborhood of ~$7k.

They had nothing but great things to report.

My wife and I did two weeks in Europe. We flew in to Zurich, rented a little Fiat, had no other fixed plans and just headed out. Hit Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, and just went wherever we felt like going. It was awesome.
