I'd save $80 and get a 3000+ instead of a 3500+ which is only slightly faster, but aside from that it looks good.

* I believe that mobo comes with a decent Creative onboard sound chip that would be at least equal to an SBLive card.

* Corsair VS seems to be one of the most recommended types of value ram.

* The NEC burner seems to be the consensus pick around here.

* Some people prefer other HD manufacturers, but I have a friend with that exact drive and he's been pleased so far.

* I'm not familiar with the case, but it is more personal pref than anything

Summary: I'm not the 'expertist' expert but I don't really see anything that should be problematic

Do SLI boards have any performance decrease with only 1 GFX card?

asking because as someone pointed out the SLI platinum has the sound blaster built in and because of this would actualy work out cheaper so tempted to get the SLI board instead as it would provide a cheap life extension in the future (say in 2 years time when i could pick up another 6800GT cheap and stick it in to extend the systems life)

if i did that would running a SLI board with only 1 GFX be okay?(i aint been keeping up with the whole SLI thing really)

There will be no performance difference running 1 card instead of two
