Yet Another Viewsonic VX924 thread

So I am looking for a new 19" monitor to replace my current 19" My current has 20 ms response time and gives me so much ghosting in FPS games that I hate to play them anymore. Racing games like NFSU2 are fine...although that game blurs stuff on purpose, so it all blends in 😉

Anyways, I saw this monitor online and thought it looked awesome, but I am reading some very mixed reviews on it. Some people say it "sparkles" all the time and looks horrible, and has a "true" response time of close to 30 ms, blah blah blah, other people claim to have it side by side with a 8 ms monitor and say it is so much better, best they have seen, etc etc.

So my question is, should I buy it? Or is there another 19" monitor with DVI input with low response time that I should buy? I have a $400 budget, which is almost exactly what the VX924 costs. And do not even suggest CRT, I have had an LCD for about 5 years and will never go back.

Thanks!

Already read reviews. If you had read my post you would have seen that, my concern is that I read such mixed reveiws. Some people love, some hate.

It's a very attractive, stylish looking monitor. Would look nice sitting on your desk 🙂 But I guess it's the image quality you are worried about

I have the Hyundai L90D+ (8ms response time) and love it! I haven't noticed any ghosting in games. If you do a search on L90D+ on this forum, you will find that most people have been very satisfied with it. Plus, its much cheaper than the Viewsonic you are looking at. Good luck!
