02 mitsu diamante vrx with 60k miles WITH 1,000-1,500 bucks
for a
03 infiniti G35 coupe looking for less than 80k miles

yay or nay?

Ive had the VR-X for a little more than 2 years and never been late on my payments. BUT I have pretty shitty credit. probably between 500-600

not even a maybe or a hell no? any input would help i guess. I never traded a car before.

according to edmunds, the trade in value for the VR-X is $4,540. I still owe about 9,000 on the diamante.

EDIT - the vehicle is in EXCELLENT shape. has 1 small ding. you would to look for it. otherwise, motor and all are fine.

It sounds reasonable to me - the KBB (used as a loose guideline) on the Diamante is around $6k, and the G35 is around $14k. It HIGHLY depends on the condition of the car and the mileage though. Don't trade yours in for one that's been abused and will give you mechanical headaches for years to come.

Edit: by reasonable, I mean it would be in your favor. If you're looking for someone to tell you if you're lowballing too much, I'm not the one to ask.

I would say that using full KBB of the traded car and then offering 50% of KBB of the 'target' car is a lowball, yes. 😛
