yet another T40 question

i had my laptop plugged in and it was in suspend. i forgot it was in suspend and unplugged it. when i brought out of sleep i got a blue screen of death and it crashed. apparently it isn't ok to unplug it when it's in suspend. do you think i did any serious damage?

Probably not to the hardware. Windows might be hosed though. Might have to reinstall Windows if you can get it to come up. Can you get in via Safe Mode?

Happend once to me there is a download somewhere on the IBM site, it's downfor maintenance right now.
but its a power management file not the Battery MaxMiser but a different one, fixes the problem.

With the generic WinXP install (no IBM power management software installed), the T40 is perfectly safe to put on/off AC while on suspend. I have never had it crash due to that. (Some third-party drivers might potentially be buggy when handling suspend/resume, which may cause your crash.)

Do you mean that you unplug the AC while it is being suspended? If you unplug the laptop AFTER it is suspended, it should be ok (at least I can do that on my T40). There may be something goof up in Windows. I don't think it is hardware though and no, your laptop should be fine, i.e., no damages done.
