Thanks Q. I tried -x but it shuts down so fast I can't even tell which lines show up on the log before it fails.. I'll try myhack now 🙂

it shut down with -x? I guess you weren't getting a kernel panic to start with then. -x should show why it crashes. good luck with myhack

*IF* your MB has IDE ports, I suggest disabling them in your BIOS if you haven't, you have your BIOS in AHCI mode right?

No luck with myhack either, it won't boot my USB stick after I restored the SL DVD to it and installed myhack. (I made sure it was installed to the USB rather than my MBP's boot drive!)

Yes, the mobo has an IDE port -- will try disabling. And yep, I've enabled AHCI in the BIOS...

kai920 - wait you said MBP but you said IDE too? I'm confused. If you're trying to install it on an actual Mac Book Pro EFI or Myhack won't work because they install the EFI emulator. Which Mac's already have built in, using any type of loader on a MBP will lead to problems. Am I missing something here??

Sorry, I didn't explain clearly. I'm trying to install 10.6 onto the desktop running a EP35-DS3L, specs in sig.

I do have a MBP, and that's what I used to format the USB stick and to install myhack with.
