I read an article I think in sky magazine about this.

Here is the issue most of us old enough to remember the first have matured enough to not be interested in the new one.

STFU GTFO, they are awesome, if you dont like em, dont watch em. They are disgrace to the original 3, agreed but still some are funny and perverted...

Thats pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I was 20 when the first one came out and even then I thought it was excessively juvenile. Watching the new ones like Alpha House and Naked Mile and the others is just annoying. I doubt a Reunion will entertain.

I stopped watching at 3 :)

I did watch bevis and butthead and laughed but AP was very immature. I look back and I think the original is very low brow.

I still like clerks though :)

I'm sure glad that at 48 I have not matured enough to not laugh at sophmoric toilet humor.

The key is that it has to have some intelligence behind it ala clerks or mallrats.

I have no interest in watching them try and bring that to midlife unless it seems real.

I showed my wife the railer and she was laughing her head off. it may have moved up to a matinee.

I never saw the original and never cared to.

The very first one is actually kinda funny if you saw it when it was brand new and hand yet seen a bunch of shock comedies. Also if you were still a teenager.
Since then they made a crapload of horrid sequels, lost some of the main cast who couldnt stomach making any more, and even slapped the Pie logo on some unrelated movies. If they were somehow able to cast Eugene Levy they would call it an American Pie movie and bilk unsuspecting fans.

The only redeeming feature of any past the first movie was loads of nudity, which in the case of the direct to video unrated films, was generally full-frontal.

I haven't seen any of the series so I can't comment on them but something tells me that the OP is spot on with his assessment.

It could be awful or it could be great. I didnt watch any of the sequels but liked the first movie. So it is like they are all growing up. The trailer actually looks like they may take it in a good direction.

The trailer is surprisingly funny. I'll look for it as a rental.

exactly. a-list actors like her are probably turning away truckloads of scripts.
