what? this isn't that bad at all. special ed teacher for one, plus he was only shot in the leg.

Yeah, it wasn't too serious but it's just wrong in itself that a kid would even think to carry let alone use a gun in school. :(

In the old days mom stayed home and raised the kids right. Now both
parents are working full time to make ends meat. So kids suffer and
turn out like this. Then we ask why with the dumbfounded looks on
our faces.

There has always been a certain amount of violence in our schools - if anything they're probably safer than they were in the "good old days". When I was in HS in the 70s there were fistfights almost every day. People sometimes got broken noses, broken arms, etc. For the most part nobody sued, nobody pressed charges. It was considered part of growing up and we were expected to be able to defend ourselves, and solve our own problems. The funny thing is, I never once heard of anyone using a weapon, even though pretty much everyone had easy access to guns and knives.

Personally I don't think most kids today are "suffering" very much. I think a lot of them are fat spoiled weaklings who blame their problems on their imperfect parents and on "the system", at a time when they should be learning to take control of their own lives. They never learn how to honorably defend themselves - so the first time they feel threatend all they can think to do is run home and get Dad's gun.

Interesting hypothesis. Do you have any statistics on fistfights in high/jr high schools vs. gun/weapon-related violence?

Are you deluded? We have some violence in schools and all of a sudden we're going to hell? How do you account for all the well-adjusted, normal people whose parents both worked? They greatly outnumber the kids who take guns to school and take out their teachers and enemies.

We only hear news about the problems and the negative school experiences, not the good ones. Keep that in mind.

Are you deluded? We have some violence in schools and all of a sudden we're going to hell? How do you account for all the well-adjusted, normal people whose parents both worked? They greatly outnumber the kids who take guns to school and take out their teachers and enemies.

We only hear news about the problems and the negative school experiences, not the good ones. Keep that in mind.

Give me a break. When we have our kids bringing guns into school and then actually using them. We got BIG problems. Locally here a kid pulled out a gun on a school bus.

The problems in our society are getting out of hand. Drugs, Violence, etc. Its all escalating to levels never seen before.

I have done very extensive research showing a direct correlation between breathing oxygen and violent behavior. The numbers are simply astounding.

Military trained them, and if they went into Columbine they would have taken out well over just a dozen, I could easily see kills in the 40's and up. Thankfully Video games are not realistic and they keep these same kids off my lawn tearing sh!t up.

You know who blame video games on these kids being killers? Sh!tty Parents PERIOD, FACT nothing to dispute, if you are a crap parent you will have crap kids, end of story next case.

I guess something will have to be done with the gun law. I mean if it's too easy to get guns, then something is wrong. It will probably end up in another school one day.

"If you can't feed em' don't breed em'" same goes for if you don't know how to take care of them, it's not OUR job as non parents to pick up after your mistakes. I don't expect you to pay for my dog when he runs away and ends up in the pound.

I was relating personal experience...I'm sure I could Google some great statistics to back up my point, and you could use the same search string to find plenty of studies to dispute it. But I have to work now.
