Actually, almost anywhere but Atlanta would be nice. We have a great cycling scene but the daily abuse I get from motorists gets old after a while. It's rare that I go ride an don't have some jerkoff yell/honk/throw something at me. :frown:Originally posted by: notfred
I still think you should move to California, Fausto.

Like I said, lots of cars + lots of bikes + crappy roads = pissed off people. It's just a bad situation all 'round and the GA regional commission has no interest in doing anything about it. They just keep adding more lanes to the highways thinking this will somehow fix the traffic/smog problem.Originally posted by: mto81

That's just pathetic. What the hell is wrong with people? It's true, generally speaking, people do suck.
I did, I just wanted to add my opinion.Originally posted by: Fausto
PS- Big pat on the back to you for not actually bothering to read the first post. Good one.
I understand that, but it's been debated into the ground and that's not why I created the thread. On top of that, you formed an opinion which ignores some laws regarding bikes and why we're on the road.Originally posted by: edro13

And I totally agree about the bike lane thing. Up here in Worthington (where I work), they have bike lanes on a lot of the roads. It is real nice.
We have at least two attorneys on my cycling team. I would advise not trying to mash me if you value your wallet.Originally posted by: Kyteland
/me swerves my car violently towards Fausto, running him off the road.

Yeah, people turning forget that (unless they have a green turn arrow) the ped in the crosswalk has the right-of-way. I've had some choice words with people to "remind" them of this over the years as I often walk to go eat luch or hit the bank during the week. But seriously, I don't ride my bike anymore, but I walk to work most days. When I do I have to cross a busy intersection by the interstate. Every time I cross (in the crosswalk with a signal mind you) I always have to kep an eye on the people turning right just to make sure they stop for me. I get a lot of dirty looks. "What are you doing crossing the street when I'm trying to turn?"
Screw you assmunch, you have to share the roads.

Probably not the nicest thing to do but......invite him out for a ride and get up to speed and then pull out your pump and stick it in his front wheel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ala "Breaking Away".
That'll teach him, j/k the man's an asshat.

Fausto, have you ever heard the phrase "shock jock?" These guys are probably still morons, but the entire point here is to grab attention via saying outragous things that few people would actually agree with, which incites anger and responses from the listeners. I hate to say it, but you've fallen for the tactic hook, link, and sinker.
PS Brutus, why would anyone want to move to Eugene? Salem is where it's as![]()

We're going to do more than that, trust me. The guy who called in is working to get a transcript and will file complaints with the FCC, the station, and their parent company.Originally posted by: CPA
You should go and confront him about his hypocrisy.
Bike lanes would solve this and are very cheap. This is often as simple as restriping the roads.

I don't advocate violence against cyclists but you guys are a hazard. You run the road in your little groups acting like you own the road all the while impeding the safe flow of automobile traffic. You put yourself in harms way and then expect for everyone else to watch out for you but unfortunately a lot of people can't drive.
It always amazes me how you pick roads where there is barely enough room for cars and then act like you are suprised when people in cars get upset getting stuck behind your slow moving spandex wearing asses. Go find a track or a private road....or a place where there is a bike lane. You have no business on a public road.
