Yet another quick mobo comparison: Epox 8KHA+ vs Shuttle AK35GTR - 8KHA+ wins

I have both right now thanks to a recent computer purchase. Is either board significantly faster than the other, or are they basically dead-heat competitors?

I think he thought that if you clicked on the link, you would get some information on some benchmarks you did between the 2 motherboards, instead of going right back to the same thread.

That's what I thought would happen, anyway.

If it is a sincere question, I don't have first hand experience, but reviews I have read would lead me to believe they are so close in performance as to be indiscernible.

Oh. That link is in my Profile - that way the thread gets wider "exposure" on the forums. I've seen others do it, and it seems like a good idea.

Yeah, they're both based on the same chipset. I'm leaning to the Epox board now - looks like it has better FSB overclockability, and that onboard POST thing is just cool. Figured I'd get other opinions first though.

Hmmmm. Tough choice. The AK35GTR has much better features, and does ahve decent ocing too, but the 8KHA+ may have been the best ocing KT266A board except for the KR7A-RAID.

8KHA+ is the best KT266A board ever made.....IMO. 🙂

I've got two running FSB speeds of 170mhz+ without a hitch....🙂

Oh, and I'd take an Epox over any Abit in a hearbeat...but that's just me..😉

Using Epox 8KHA+ as I type 🙂 & yes it`s rock stable and an excellent board,as for Abit well I`ve used them in the pass but do prefer Epox anytime so I agree with Insane3D for a change 😉.

🙂

Epox 8KHA+ also gets my vote. I've had 2 and liked 'em better than my earlier Shuttle KT266 motherboard, for more reasons than just the semi-obvious (KT266a vs KT266).
