Since I've seen no proof other than Sanchez's version, let's just pretend for a second that he is innocent until proven guilty (this is America) and he in fact did not know...

He's still incompetent for not knowing! He was the Secretary of Defense! How could he not know?!

Either way, he screwed up.

Oh please, this isn't a criminal case. This is classic Rumseld, the guy who knows bureaucratic politics like he knows the back of his hand. No doubt he'll lie and say he never said such things. The guy looks and acts like a puss with his high-pitch voice.

The "innocent until proven guilty" part was a joke. My point is that even if what he says is true, he was still a disaster, and looks ridiculous trying to use incompetence as a "defense". Especially when you consider this was his second time around as SoD...
