Okay, long story short my friends has pc parts for free.

What is an "ATi Rage IIc" ???

It goes into an AGP port.

But I have not used this one. Where does it fit in the whole timeline of things?

Should have about 4MB of RAM on it. I think the card is circa 1998.

Oh, and here I went thinking I had never heard of it because it was too new or ultra rare or something. Figures. Thanks for the ID. Youngn's like me don't have clear memories of the computer equip of 7-8 years ago.

While I am asking about my friend's free sh1t...

There is this nvidia card he's got... it's labeled a "GeForce 256" WTF IS THIS? I can't find for the life of me what generation geforce card this is. and yes I googled it and they say "geforce 256" what does 256 mean? 256 MB of RAM? 256bit? or is it misspelled for "Geforce 2 - 56?"

That was the first of the GeForce series and came before the GF2. Ran at a whopping 120/160.
