Yet another "my e8400" temp question

So let me start off by apologizing at the start.

I just got back from iraq and have been out of the tech scene since enlisting. So the first thing I wanted to do was build a new computer (well not really the first ) So I built a new e8400 with IP35 Pro + g92 8800gts + blah blah ... When I read everyone elses temp issues they at least get the correct temps in one of the programs but in; core temp , speed fan, everest ultimate, abit guru, I get the exact same temps -

Motherboard - 24 (fluctuates 1 - 2 deg )
cpu core 25
core 1 45
core 2 39
video - 37 ( this one actually fluctuates


So I would think I have a pretty good cooling setup as the ambient is 30. I'm running a tuniq tower with mx-2 arctic silver in a antec 900 with all fans on high and its 14 outside so its not too warm in the room.

I understand this is happening to everyone but I have yet to see someone that had everyone the same temp. I even took everything out of the case last night and rebuilt it and still.... the same temps

Are you saying the temps don't go up under load? Or just that every program reads the same temp and you think this is wrong? I'd say those temps are normal, based on what everyone seems to be reporting. Overclock it and see what happens to the temps, they probably won't go up much until you hit 4GHz.

Well they dont go up on load and are frozen on every program. I tried to overclock it to around 3.6 and they still do not move. I just thinks its weird since every program says the same thing when everyone else I have read is a tad different. I dismantled again today and still no changes

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The temps on these e8400's have been all over the board by reading threads here and elsewhere. My temps do move when I overclock but not much from stock. I'm hoping it has to do with the motherboard(BIOS) and the software that is reading the temps and not the actual chips. Either way I think you're safe as long as you stay within the vcore limits when overclocking. These chips can take a lot it seems.

Yeah I was worried about my temps too, they all read too high. But almost all E8400's seem to be reading high, and many have reported "stuck" temps like yours. I wouldn't worry, just stay below 1.38v or so up to 4GHz with decent cooling and you'll be fine.
