I ordered mine way back then when they first came out (nov. 2001) and they've been near perfect for me.
Cranked it up full bass and high volume several times (made some clipping noises and I quickly turned it down).

But that's not the problem.

For several weeks now, I've noticed that the left channel (both front and rear) is a lot softer than the rights.
It especially becomes noticeable when you have it on low volume, where you would ONLY hear the rights - the left f/r makes no noise at all.

Now this is a relatively minor problem compared to what others have experienced...
Know of a quick fix?
Should I RMA?

Yeah, that's the first thing I did - everything is centered.

I love these speakers to death and this is a somewhat minor problem.
Don't know if it's worth the trouble/wait to RMA them.

I guess I can deal, as long as it doesn't get worse.

first try it out on a cd player or something to make sure its the sound card...

if you do send it in for an RMA, make sure you give them your address...they forgot to ask me for mine and they didnt think to look on the return address label to get my address

then they wrote my phone # down wrong so they couldnt call me about it... so they were just sitting in a warehouse somewhere till i called to check on them...

Funny that you should say that......Mine are 2 days old and they dod the same thing. Its only noticeable when the volume is almost all the way down. Both sides balance out turning the volume a couple of notches.
This is the second set I've owned in the last year, and both have done that.

Then it's probably a design flaw. They should have spent the money from that blue LED on a better potentiometer.

it's your sound card! It did that on most of the creative card I tried. Works fine when I moved to my foritissimo 2 ;)

have to check that out! Havent rebooted since I installed my Philips Acoustic Edge...messed with the all the settings and then deleted the stupid icon from the task bar...naturally I cant get back into it until I reboot.

Sure dont want to lose my place in line at the mp3-leeching lounge! ;)

Found the solution!

Go into control panel, sound settings and lower the system volume to 75% or less. You will then adjust speaker volume from the control pod. Works like a charm!
Ive got even sound output from all 4 sats at any level.

:D
