Yet another Krispy Kreme opening in Oregon

Less than a mile away, a KK is opening at 05:30 Tuesday.

Yes, there are a couple of hundred dorks standing outside. Yes, many of them were standing in the 90F sun today. Yes, there is another KK about 30 minutes away.

They are even going to close off a stretch of Cornell Rd for up to a week.

Why are they doing this??? For a friggin' doughnut!

My boss and I and some co-workers were discussing about the closing of the street just for the Krispy Kream place in Beaverton. Unbelievable. I don't get it.... because there is already two places in Oregon.
 
I drove over there to take some pics... But there were cops everywhere, ensuring that traffic didn't stop. All of the other stores' driveways were closed off, so the closest place to park was about a block away.

The pics weren't worth a block's walk. 😛
 
Maybe I'm just bitter because I'm losing weight, and I won't be partaking in the KK shenanigans!

LOL close down the street for a donut shop. This should be a good sign that Americans truly are way too fat for their own good.
 
You should have seen the chaos when the first Arby's in costal Mississippi opened up. Traffic was nuts on the freaking main highway.
 
wow i didn't even know that had that many different doughnuts. i've only seen a kk doughnut twice and both times they were just the plain glazed. i thought that was all they had. i'm off work today and this new one is like a mile away from me so i might have to go.

I must be sick because I like "KK" and "In & Out" neither of which exist in this town.
 
I'm sorry... I hope you don't waste your money on those air filled donuts that take 6 to eat before you even feel anything in your tummy 😛
 
While I agree that KK is just another donut, I have to throw my $0.02 in. I was just in Canada (Victoria) 2 weeks ago and I can now say with authority that:

Krispy Kreme >>>>>>>>>>>> Tim Hortons
