On the news this morning, they said that there were more employees at the new KK than there were customers. Wonder how long they'll close down Cornell Rd for now?

Depends on how well they do on wholesale and fund raising. Retail (in store) sales only account for a small fraction of many KK's overall profits.

Err, I just meant that they probably don't have to worry about traffic snarls and might reopen the road early. I think that the Eastside grand opening took care of the Metro area's urge to act like complete morons.

I like how the new Krispy Kreme in question is basically across the street from a 24 Hour Fitness.

Can't wait til some lardo brings up a lawsuit against Krispy Kreme. The herd would stampede him to death.

KK = crack filled doughnuts

Thank you. :)

who cares, tim horton's is on every street corner in every city in canada and doesn't cause traffic problems.

It is because Tim Horton's is on every street corner that they don't cause any traffic problems. You fail to realize the sheer and obvious genius of KK's marketing plan.

Really? What kind of coupons? I wouldn't mind having coupons to 24 hr fitness.

("wouldn't mind having" = "need")

Yes, there are a couple of hundred dorks standing outside. Yes, many of them were standing in the 90F sun today. Yes, there is another KK about 30 minutes away.

They are even going to close off a stretch of Cornell Rd for up to a week.

Why are they doing this??? For a friggin' doughnut!

What's the carb count on a Krispy Kreme ? ;)

If you have to ask, you cannot afford it. ;)

I've seen your name around here a ton, didn't realize you were from Eugene.
I lived there for 28 yrs. In Medford area now.
Seems like there are a lot of Oregonians on AT.

Wingznut,
I can still eat them. For awhile.
Thinking about starting Atkins next week after I get back from my camping trip.
Just couldn't stand the thought of going camping without smores.
That and I've been too broke to go shopping and get some low-carb snacks.

I firmly believe that people aren't simply "eating" the Krispy Kreams. Freebasing, shooting, snorting?perhaps; that would at least make more sense. I've eaten one and to me it tasted like a donut. I was expecting much more. Next time I'm going to crush it up on my desk and snort it.

BTW I live in PDX and I still haven't been to the first one. Somehow I sleep at night. /shrug

I had one of their doughnuts, although it wasn't warm.. It was .. a doughnut.

I was good though.. but it was still a doughnut.
