Yet Another Job Thread - two weeks notice

I have yet to quit a professional job. If I were to quit, my notice would be dependent on the reason I was leaving.

If I was just leaving for a better opportunity, I'd give as much notice as I reasonably could. If my new position wasn't ready for 2 months, I'd give my current employer 2 months notice. I wouldn't want to put a burden on my current coworkers and the job that I do requires a good amount of ramp up time for a new hire.

If I was leaving because of a hostile work environment/being screwed, I'd give the minimum accepted amount, which is generally 2 weeks. There's no reason to work a minute longer than you have to at a place that obviously doesn't want you there.
