Anyone know the answer to this question?

A cereal company is offering a poster of Britney Spears to anyone who sends in enough box tops. Gillian and Tess each want a poster. Tess needs seven more box tops and Gillian needs one more. They thought of combining their box tops to get one poster, but they still don't have enough. How many box tops are needed for one poster?

Its kind of confusing...I mean, Gillian needs one more so even if Tess has one, when they combine it...they should have enough. And if Tess have none, than the answer is ambiguous. Maybe i'm not reading the question right...any thoughts?

That's easily figured out by taking the square root of the hypotenuse of the flight pattern of two fully laiden swallows carrying coconuts from the tropics to mercia, then dividing by the sum of the square of the other two sides and raising it to the 3*pi power.

An alternative answer is to diagram an Operon model using the Schordinger equation where g=( to the speed of a Horney toad lizard minus the inverse speed of the cockroach he is chasing divied by the sqare of elevation in meteres). Though your solutiuon requires less calculas and is still fairly accurate mine accounts for wind speed and altitude which gives sig figs to the order of X10-3.

You know, most IQ tests are timed, but you could spend all day on this one if you wanted. Not very accurate IMHO.

Exactly. The unfolded objects could be figured out block by block with enough time. The point of the tests is if you can visualize the stuff.

132 on the Ultimate. I scored 135 on a real administered test when I was 17 and score between 131-135 on every online test I've taken so I'd say it's fairly accurate in my case

It's actually really easy.... as you said... if gillian needs one more... if they combine their boxes, they still dont have enough... so Tess has NONE... if tess has none, and she needs 7 more to get the poster... you need a total of 7 :D

120. I scored 182 on a different one. Not bad considering I skipped/guessed about 5 or 6 questions.

143 on the Verbal IQ Test.

I don't put much faith into these tests. I do happen to do well with analytical problems, but not well enough to deserve a 143. I wish my LSAT score was as stellar.

Don't discuss the questions here. That fvcks it up for people who hasn't taken the test and ruins the integrity of the exam.
There are no flaws in all the IQ test except for one I can think of, and non of you seem to have found it yet. It's a grammatical one btw.

I didn't read the rest of the thread, so I don't know if someone found it, but in one of the tests it says "mothers" where it should say "mother's".

I encourage all of you to take the free online Mensa Workout. Although this half-hour quiz will not qualify you to enter Mensa, it is fun and fast. The "Workout" was written by one of my favorite people in all the world, Dr. Abbie Salny.

Over the years I have belonged to four "high IQ" societies: Mensa, Intertel, ISPE, and Four Sigma. The only one of these to which I still belong (and the only one which, in my view, is worth the membership fee) is Mensa, which offers several excellent publications and has given me access to some of the liveliest social events I have ever had the pleasure of attending.

There is quite a bit of useful information about such groups here, although I cannot vouch for the timeliness of all the links.

It states on the ultimate IQ test that all people who scored much higher than 140 should take the test for exceptional people.
Since I've seen so many 140+ all the way to 156, don't you guys think you should try the very last test????

Awesome sweetness! I got a 159 on the first test (no lies either). I'm like some sort of superfreak... :)

I'll do the ultimate one after.
