Yet another GTX Titan thread...

Just to clarify this thread, we're talking about spending upwards of 1k+, because FC3 (A game in which someone is using tri SLI Titan to play), and Tessellation and SSAA on Metro: Last Light, aren't capable of working?

Ya'll must be serious because I'd never spend over 1000 dollars to play just two games.... Hell, not even play two games, but two enable one or two more settings on two games. Especially when new consoles are coming out and developers will most likely start to really push the graphics envelope and NV/AMD will, instead of releasing refreshes, actually release brand new architectures.

But I guess some of you guys have a lot more money to spend on gaming and put it at a lot higher of a priority than I do. To me though, what you listed, couldn't possibly warrant that type of expenditure for such a small increase in performance. I'd wait for new architectures that are a year away rather than spend 1k+ on GFX cards that will no doubt look terrible compared to what comes around in 2014.

Then again, it probably would have helped if you'd answered/specfied what resolution was your target/bear minimum, to play at....

Yep

My apologies for a late reply. I work in the oil field with extremely long hours (19 hour shift today).

Anyways, I only used FC3 and Metro 2033/Last Light as examples since they are the most graphically demanding games out there right now and since 2033 was never optimized that well anyways, I figured I would use it as an example as well. For me, I tried maxing FC3 at my native resolution (2560X1440) and it ran pretty choppy. The same goes for Last Light with Tessellation and SSAA - the moment these settings are enabled my FPS dies (menu FPS was 2-7 FPS...).

Now on to the actual subject matter. Thanks for the replies and the information regarding the Titan as well as the upcoming 780. I have the money to dump into some Titans but given the small performance boost I would receive, it definitely does not justify the price and I can live with what I have for now until something far superior comes along. Since I built this rig around future upgrading rather than completely rebuilding, I was concerned my other hardware wasn't going to cut it if I were to eventually end up with SLi Titans or 700+ series cards, but since nobody mentioned my other hardware, I'll assume that there would be no problem with what I have in regards to adding in more powerful GPUs.

Lastly, I never even beat FC3 because of how boring it became. The devs made the environment so beautiful, not many people noticed the lack-luster action and general repetitiveness of the "missions". I did... and that's why it's no longer installed.

Anyways, it looks like I'll be sticking with my current hardware for the time being. I mainly only play Borderlands 2 (which runs flawlessly at maxed settings) and Metro: Last Light. Once I finish Metro, I'll be reinstalling Bioshock and moving onto Infinite once I complete a run through the original, so I can only hope that Infinite runs smooth on my system.

Thanks again for all the information.
