Yet another Goodwill finds thread

A Few days ago, someone from my church gave me a set of Optimus STS-200 speakers that I didn't have a proper amp for. The day after I had received them, I went to Goodwill and found a Kenwood KR-V7070 for $12.
It had a big dent in it, but I smoothed it out a bit with my hammer. (Clarkson style)

Any other of my fellow ATOT members find anything good there recently?

Anyway, OP...I see stuff like that at my Goodwill all the time. Looks like garbage (but I'm not an audio guy). If it's not a full A/V receiver w/ HDMI and 1080p...it's not really worth the space.

a couple weeks back i saw some sort of 5.1 kenwood receiver for $15, i think the best it had were s-video i/o. looked brand new. also saw an old thx ultra dvd player, think it was $5.

the local goodwill computer store though has ridiculous prices for old hardware. atx power supplies for $40-80, 15" lcds for ~$70, P4 systems for $250...etc.

That's not a goodwill store. Lol.

I don't need HDMI input on it, it only drives two speakers and I heard that they can go for around $70 on eBay nowadays.

$10 each for these fine Technics pieces, full working condition. I assume they're worth at least $100, if not more simply because they're technics. That receiver was 210W per channel I think. Oh and those JBL speakers above were $5 each.

Got this old Kenwood AM/FM tuner for $10 that I sold for $80 on ebay. Was a _rare_ tuner.

And then....a pair of brand new Fogal pantyhose for $0.99 that I went and sold for $54 on eBay. I guess they didn't look these up and realize that they're like the brand that the queen of england wears.

The town I lived in...their goodwill was a gold mine.

I can't be seen in that section of the store. You are a bold one.

Over the last week I've attained approximately ~$200 worth in CDs for $20. :awe:

But from Savers. The Goodwill next door has very little that isn't garbage and in bad condition.

The special lady friend was able to pick up cashmere sweaters at one of the Goodwills back in Chicago for about 5 bucks and sell them on eBay for ~$80, on a somewhat regular basis.

Some Goodwill are terrible, though.

Here's a tip: scout the neighborhood. If it's a decent to affluent part of town, then the closest Goodwill is probably a gold mine.

Next time I go up to the St. David's Microcenter, (near Philadelphia) I have to check out the goodwill there.
The neighborhood looks very wealthy, and is right next to the legendary Devon Horse Show.
