he posted that at like 11-12PM last night, unless its ruptured then will just stabalize him and do the operation this morning. unless it HAS to be taken care of most docs and hospitals wont operate at midnight

I had an emergency appendectomy. It didn't seem to be as big a deal as some other surgeries as far as pain and recuperation goes; however whoever gets the task of packing the big gaping hole in your gut for a few days afterwards will not be thrilled.

i feel your pain OP... I went through the same this last march except mine had ruptured just slightly, so they did surgery immediately.

i can still remember the pain leading up to it, it was unbearable. I nearly passed out in the emergency room, thank god they weren't busy that day!

My wife was in surgery a number of years ago now for a planned procedure and while they were in there they turned the camera thing around and saw her's was about to burst and did a rush removal.

I'm sitting in the waiting room with my brother in-law thinking "holy shit this supposed to be 45 min procedure is taking forever!"

4 hours in and we finally get an answer on whats going on and find out.

When she woke up and came to she was really surprised by it as she knew nothing of it and was out the whole time.

Made what should of been a few day recovery into a solid week of needing me to assist her getting up and down from sitting or laying positions.

Good luck!

mine ruptured. it hurt. a lot

really? mine ruptured in my 2nd period class my sophomore year of highschool. never went to the nurse. finished out the day, went home and proceeded to puke everything out and then some for the next 2 days before i went to the ER. 18 days later they sent me home with silver nitrate to cauterize the gaps in the wound.

it was a blast

lol jeez. I was in high school at the time. Had some strange cramps after school, though I was hungry. Ate some food, still didn't feel right so I took a nap. Woke up worse, started to throw up and I was very weak. Went to the doctor, they thought I was dehydrated or something, went to the ER to get checked out, perhaps get an IV.

I don't remember everything but while waiting in a room for a while I started getting stabbing pains that had me yelling. That wasn't fun. The mind does a good job of blocking those memories out, though

Not dead. Just recovering in my room with my nook. My appendix had not ruptured so I had a 0630 surgery schedule for a laparoscopy. Feeling a bit better now but still hurting some even through the morphine. Stupid docs shaved only half my belly though so I will have to shave everything else later.

Made it back home finally. Still kicking and in some pain. Looks like I'll have the rest of the week off from work though.
