If you work during college then you are only PT, if you have already graduate then you will be wanting a FT position. They are not going to want to give a FT job to someone that they have no idea on whether he/she can do the job.

NEW QUESTION:
I really don't know how interested I am in being a database administrator so I'm wondering what's the best way to find out what I am interested in. I'm sick of computers .. I need something new. Are there some interests surveys online? .. not that these will make the decision for me but they could give me an idea. I'm trying to take some different classes next year also so maybe that will help too.

A lot of gen-ed programs are designed to expose you to a variety of fields. Just go in as undeclared and you'll find your niche.

Go for the 4 years or 3 if you want to get out early. Your mind will change once you get onto campus and meet all those people. You dont have to party all the time, but you will have fun and you will want to stay for that much longer. Be a kid for once, fvck around, then go work and grow up.

Dont force your way through...you only live once. At least smile a bit along the way. Go for a semester than judge everything, at least give it the chance.

This brings me to my previous question: I don't understand how finding an internship in the summer and taking 3 years to finish college would be any better than finding an internship after graduating in 2 years. Is it easier to get an internship as a college student who can only work for the summer than as a graduate?
Anyone?

I think it's easier to get an internship while still in college over the summer. Most internship programs are geared for the college student.

Ugh, I think I'm worrying about this too much because I'm losing interest in school or any sort of career. Just a question though: what are some careers that pay well, would allow me to work from home (or at least be self-employed), and/or would allow me to travel a lot? I've been looking at international business, personal financial advisor, public relations .. but I'm definately open to suggestions. Thanks again. The advice has been helpful.
