Yet another car audio question....

I currently have the four speakers in my car running off the head amp. It's a newer panasonic deck that puts off 50w x 4 (max) or 23x x 4 (rms). here's the linky for the specs. I have a spare 4 channel amp that's sitting unused in a box, and I'd like to use it to power my 4 speakers (since I've done some car audio installs for friends and noticed that usually speakers sound much better when not powered by the head amp).

Here's my question:

Is there any way to send the power from the 4 channel amp directly into the deck so it powers the speakers? I'm guessing that this is a stupid question and the answer is "NO", but I thought I'd ask. The reason why I'd like to do that is because it would be a lot easier than rewiring all the speakers if I put the amp in my trunk (it's a fairly large amp) - I could just run an RCA cable from the amp to the deck.

Anyone? Perhaps some suggestions?

thanks,

No, you cannot do that... althought it would be nice in some cases 🙂

The only thing you can do is hook up the amp and then hook up all the speakers to the amp. I would suggest trying to fit the amp closet to the front of the car, you will end up using a lot less wire. IE. under one of the seats.
