I think that you should get 2GB of ram, 2x1GB sticks would be better than 4x512 mb sticks. If I were you, I would get the Vantec and a fan controller. Since you have $300 to spend, just use the extra money you have from the ram and get a fan controller with it. I don't know excatly what RAM speed you should get, but I think just regular pc 3200 should do. How about this RAM, and this fan controller.

EDIT: oh yeah, and this case totally pwns that TT tsunami. I've never seen it this cheap before either.

Right, sounds good. Thanks for all your help, and if you see a PM from me in the next couple weeks about OCing, help me out 😀.

I used to have that case, but since this computer will be in a room that's very based on design, I like the Tsunami/WaveMaster design.

that vantec fan is also gonna sound like a vacuum cleaner, it may push alot of air but check out the db rating 55. where as the panaflo's are around 20-38, huge difference.

Wouldn't a fan controller remedy this, somewhat?

yeah it would definately help, but then whats the point of have a fan that pushes alot of air at a certain RPM and then turning it down to a slower rpm so its quieter and then its pushing about the same cfm as a quieter fan without the controller? thats just my logic, but if you want a quiet pc you'd definately need a fan controller with the vantec

So you'd suggest a Panaflo for this setup? I'm a bit wary of fan controllers as well, to tell you the truth, I'd be afraid to set it too low and have it overheat.

i can't say that i've had any personal exp with the panaflo's but many people have said they are very satisfied with that xp90 panaflo combo. i was just saying i don't quite get the point of getting a bunch of loud fans that push alot of air then turning them down so they don't so they are quiet. why not just get quiet fans in the first place?

I see your point. Maybe panaflo would be best then.
