Hello all. This is my first post on anandtech forums and i am excited!
Now onto all those questions i must answer...
1.gaming(skyrim, tf2, minecraft, portal 1-2, deus ex hr, as well as future titles) Web browsing, Word processing, random things
2.1000$
3.USA (either newegg or fry's electronics)
4. No preference
5. I'll be using my old comp's dvd player and maybe the 500gb hdd (maybe for a separate os) a westinghouse 27" television, a ps/2 keyboard and a usb mouse
6.i have researched this for about 3 weeks
7.stock speeds until i feel like its lagging behind
8. 1366x768
9. December-ish (christmas)

Here goes...
Windows 7 home premium 64-bit OEM

i5 2500k 3.3GHz CPU

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 motherboard

Corsair vengeance 2x4gb ddr3 1600 MHz RAM

Samsung spinpoint f3 1Tb hdd

Antec BP550 plus 550w PSU

Rosewill FUTURE gaming atx mid tower case

Asus eah6870 radeon hd 6870 1gb graphics card...

So whaddya guys think? Any bottlenecks? Reccomendations? With all the combos from newegg the final price is $888.92; even less after rebate. Suggestions? Dont be afraid to give it to me straight either... Kthxbye!

Welcome to Anandtech Forums 🙂

No need to spend $1000 for gaming at 1366x768. I think you should spend $850-1000 on the rig and upgrade to a 23" 1080p monitor.

If you're buying this in December, come back in December because the pricing of the components could be entirely different to now. Don't get your mind set on any build as of yet

+1 for upgrading the monitor, even if it means eating a bit of the tower's budget.

But yeah... we could make suggestions here and there, but that could change in a couple months, or even next week. Just come back when you're ready to buy.
