Yet Another BF2 Issue....

all was working well for some time (with of course the normal CTDs, etc, but pretty good for BF2).

i swithced monitors to my 40" LCD which is 1360x768 and now BF2 will not even start up. i tried setting the resolution in the game through the video.con file to 800x600 and also the LCD resolution to 800x600 but nothing, all it does it flash the bf2 logo, screen goes black and then back to desktop.

with my 17" 1280x1024 LCD it works fine.....:disgust:

any ideas?

don't use the video.con file.... use the short cut method. Make your short cut target look like this

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1360 +szy 768

or similar.

tried that and nothing, even tried 1280x720

happens on bf2:sf too

maybe i will just save my profile info and reload the f*cking game again....

Is your refresh rate at 60? I know that if the refresh rate isn't that or higher the game won't launch.

yes it is at 60, i figured it out - i needed not only to add the size to the shortcut but also modify the video.con file in the default profile too - i put it to 800x600 and it started up at 1360x768, things are a bit stretched in the game but that is ok.
