So, I'm driving to work this morning, I'm on a 2 lane road with no passing lanes anywhere, it is a 50mph road and I'm moving along at about 45mph, stuck behind traffic in front of me and this idiot in a white C-Max is right on my tail the entire time. I'm not sure what the point of that was, did he want me to pull over to let him pass? Not gonna happen pal! I thought of brake checking him but that's not cool.

Kind of irritated me. I've seen this guy before too, always in a fuckin' hurry. Douche.

<--Waiting for the posts telling me what I was doing wrong in this scenario. :whiste:

What you are doing wrong is letting idiots and douchebags get to you.

Keep it calm and cool.

You can't control other people, and allowing them to effect your state of mind = not so smart either

It's just the type of person.

Are you a tailgating douchbag destined for high insurance premiums?

or are you halfway intelligent destined to at least pass the "I'm not retarded" test?

It's that simple.... And a lot of people answer 'Yes' to question #1.

Don't brake check them.... Holy shit don't do that... I'm in Texas and that is suicide an uninsured hit and run. Enjoy insurance hikes and deductibles. People that "Brake check" are more fucking retarded than tailgaters.

FTR-I would never do that. But I'd be lying if I said the thought hadn't occurred to me.

I'm actually fine with the time change and driving home in the dark. Right now I'm driving home at dusk and that is way more dangerous because I'm basically travelling right into the sun and there are a number of hills where you crest them and you're literally staring right into the sun. My polarized Maui Jim's help but it is still way less than ideal.

I just tilt the rearview up when I'm really annoyed by someone. Out of sight, out of mind.

I just ignore them, really don't give a damn if someone's tailgating me. I always speed, so if someone is tailgating it's because I can't get by the person in front of me. So F them, they can wait as well.

It's the d-bag going 66mph while passing 3 big rigs in a row going 65mph that pisses me off. Or big rigs that literally take 5+ miles to pass another big rig. Seriously fuck you.

He's pressuring. If everyone pressured the person holding up the line in front then he/she might notice how many people they are pissing off and the traffic might speed up.

There were at least 15 cars in front of me. We were at the mercy of the slow guy at the front.

Pressuring me accomplished absolutely nothing.

what choice do you have in that scenario? I would have just kept moving along but ignore the car tailgating. These drivers can never get where they are going fast enough and driver courtesy is not in their vocabulary.

Tailgaters are tools. I try not to do it myself, even though every day on my commute to and from work there's a fuckton of absolute fucking knuckledragging dipshits in the LEFT lane not even doing the speed limit, holding up traffic. Fucking christ I'd like to drag the fuckers out of their vehicles, shoot them in the head, and kick their worthless bodies into the ditch.

 Totally agree.

None whatsoever. I just ignored him.

Thought it would make for a good mild rant here though. :D

Where i live i still get tailgaters even when its a 4 lane highway. for some reason thet seem too stupid to change lanes and go around. Some drivers are simply lazy morons who do not deserve to be on the road.

If I am two or three cars behind someone holding a huge line up below the limit for miles I flash and honk to encourage the people in front of me to do the same. Make sure the driver isn't simply oblivious. I'm telling them to express the line's displeasure on our behalf. Pass it on. If I'm directly behind the person holding up a line for miles I make sure they aren't oblivious to what they are doing, especially if we are approaching another speed limit sign, though I am carefully that I don't distract them from it (sometimes they honestly thought the speedlimit was lower).

your bad manners at the wheel do not enhance driver courtesy....?

I take it you were on 4 wheels instead of 2 and therefore unable to lane split :hmm:

Very annoying stuff. Pretty decent rant here Jules, we all experience this and its downright annoying. I like the guy who said tilt the rear view mirror down, I might try that tactic. But otherwise, the first response is probably the best. Which is surprising because vdubchaos can be pretty out there sometimes.
