That sounded very scary. I'm glad everything turned out okay, but I think you're right to want to wait around longer next time, and be sure to get that epi pen. I'm surprised they didn't offer to give you one after that happened.

One thing with me is that I've had so many surgeries and medical problems that it takes a lot of anything (normally) to make me drowsy.

I'm sort of anxious thinking about getting another shot next week.

Slickone - I normally wait 15 - 20 minutes. I want to wait a little longer next time.[/quote]

Benadryl, Actifed, a bunch of others make me sleep/sleepy for anywhere from 12 to 24 hours. My mom took some RX stuff for fluid in her ears and after taking one pill she slept for 18 hours straight, then took another one and slept for 12, got up went to the bathroom, tried to eat, and slept another 16. I would wake her up, and she would go right back to sleep. It was kind of funny when she tried to eat dinner..

It generally takes a little more than the normal person to really make me drowsy. (Unless it's something new or I haven't taken in a while.) I've had 9 surgeries in the past 11 years, so I've had a lot of pain medication from that and then I have pain meds for my fibromyalgia and arthritis. lol

montanafan - Yeah, I'm sort of surprised as well. Hopefully they won't have a problem with giving me one. :)

I went in today for another allergy shot. What they had the nurse do was to go back down to the very first dose size on that particular vial. I was a little (okay a lot) scared to get it today, but it wasn't like last week. YAY!
