Damnit Cheesetogo, I wanna warn you now before you start wondering where all your life savings went...

I'll give the gaming industry about two years to make games that require more than one 7800GTX. And by then, nVidia will have at least the 8000 series out. Think about it, by then, would you want to add another outdated 7800GTX or just go the next step?

What about Oblivion IV, STALKER, Quake 4, Prey, and others? They should be out by late 2005/early 2006.

Are you saying a single 7800GTX couldn't handle those games? Why even purchase nVidia if you have no faith in it? 😕

No. I guess I read that wrong by accident. I thought he ment a single gtx, not two of them. If I'd seen that, I wouldn't have that.

Expensive card, I would get a 6800gt or lower and wait for the 7800s to cool down

I'm definetly not planning on buying anything from the last gen, I've been waiting since november to buy one of these cards. Now that the r520 is being pushed back until fall, I really don't want to wait for it.

3000 ownz 3200..... if u going to oc...

How? The 3200 has a 10x multiplier. Did I miss somthing when we switched to venice? I thought most people felt that the 3200 was better.

long debates... 10 mult supposed to be better... but i witnessed better OC results w/ 3000 than 3200 majority of times.... people will argue.. but there are many other people that'd say the same thing...

lol I had to drop my multi to 9 to reach my current overclock. I suppose I could have saved myself a few bucks by getting a 3000+.

Cheesetogo: if you've got the cash and the desire, get the 7800GTX. It's obviously a great card, and you'll have graphics capabilities in the neighborhood of what the PS3 will have.

Personally, I'd wait for the 7 series midrange offering which, if the past is any indication, will offer last gens ultra high end performance at ~$200-$250.

Of course I'll probably never know the glory of riding the bleeding edge of technology thinking like that... 🙁
