Well I'm finally getting rid of my problems slowly! I've got a IWILL KK266-R and tried to enable the AMI Raid chipset. I enabled it, windows 98SE detected it, installed the driver, everything is smooth. I'm wanting to run all of my drives on their own controller (HD, DVD, Burner). The HD and DVD are on the southbridge controllers. I set the burner for master and hooked it into the AMI RAID controller. Windows loads half way and locks on the "windows 98" screen. Is there something I need to set in my bios to get this working? The AMI controller is just like a regular IDE controller right? ANything I need to set in the AMI RAID bios possibly?

Casanova,

I have heard many, many times NOT to run burners on the RAID controllers. Run your hard drives off of the RAID controller, and hook everything else up to the IDE ports.

Please read here for further details on your situation: KK266-R FAQ

Yep. You can't run anything but hard drives on the raid ports. And in my experience, you can only run raid reliably on the raid ports. Running drives as regular IDE caused lots of problems.
