how do you know? have you installed anyhting that you got from a less than reliable source? The best way to stop it is to unplug the cable.

Setting fire to the cat wont work, trust me. Just unplug it from your connection, and then try to find the offending file that is allowing them to do this.

On 98? Run MSCONFIG.

Check for any load= statements in your win.ini

rem out anything suspicious.

Look for anything suspicious in your startup.

eakers - go to www.zonelabs.com and download ZoneAlarm - the free version. Install, reboot and set Zone Alarm to maximum security. Then watch what asks to use the internet as Zone Alarm will ask you whether to allow it. If its normal things like Explorer and ICQ, then let them, but if you see anything strange asking, tell it NO.

Let me know what you find!

unplug it from the internet, its that simple. find out what is doing it, and delete it. Then go back online.

It's your fault. Describe the whole problem in detail and then expect a response worth using. Optimus did mention what to do, which you did. Now what is the problem?

Besides, this should be in Technical Support.

Kat,

How exactly do the programs crash? Do they give any kind of errors?

Do other programs like microsoft word have problems?

Have you tried running Norton WinDoctor or some virus software?
