Well it worked overnight, and I restarted and it still showed up, so now I've just got to do a few more things and see if it's still messed up.

I don't buy from computer shows anymore because some of the companys are really shady or they are gone (shut down business) so that they don't have to deal with returns and warrentys.

Paulson,I won't say you're a moron but why didn't you go back to the seller's both the instant you noticed the drive wasn't physically perfect?

Because then he would have to admit that he was not perfect (he knew that at those places, you take your chances)

😉

well, simply because by the time I opened it up, I was already heading back home... and I didn't want to open it up anyways because I was pissed at myself thinking of course I bought a bad drive 😛

Go figure....

It was kinda shady anyways because when i was there, he only had 1 80 gig drive... when I bought mine, I stopped by to look again and he had 3 80 gig drives then...

Western Digital has quite a liberal return policy, despite what their webpage says.

You would have no trouble at all returning it if it didn't show up in your BIOS.

You can even have a new one shipped first.

Well like what I thought, it has no warranty on it...

it was either sold to a oem manufacturer or something like that, and therefore it has no warranty...

Odd thing is, now it actually runs the quick test and other stuff it's supposed to w/out any errors... ???

Anybody else find this odd?

Going to town to town sell their products and leave, and if you bought a defective product, you are pretty much SOL.

Yip they show up here in Denver a few times a year and the first and only time I went they wanted 10.00 bucks admitenance fee. Wheni got inside they had nothing but junk as far as I was concerned. They had all kinds of ads in the news papers and radio spots pitching how much you save if you come to it. Yea right if anything their crap was marked up. Plus you have to deal with problems like Paulson has.

No thanks.
