Yellow pea protein

New non-dairy, vegan-friendly protein. Well, new method anyway - one that's supposed to be tasteless. Most plant-based stuff has a funky taste; this stuff isn't bad! Just started rolling out to stores by me; tried the chocolate milk so far.

I'll be trying their full lineup of products as I find more of them; particularly interested in the protein powder (as an alternative to whey) to see (1) about the flavor, and (2) about whether it really blends up smoothly or not.

The unsweetened vanilla version I might consider trying out, but how much was it?

It was marked down to $3.49 at my local grocery store, guess it wasn't selling. I think it was like $5 or $6 normally.

Considering a small Fairlife goes for $1.99 on sale, it was a decent price for the amount I got (full-sized bottle).

At $3.49 I would consider buying this every so often, but there is no way that Iwould be drinking this every day.

I feel you...small changes yield amazing results. My local grocery store charges $3.65 for a gallon of milk; it's only $1.78 at Walmart. Walmart has free trunk delivery in my area, which we talk advantage of. We average 2 gallons of milk used per week. That's $1.87 savings per gallon. At 104 gallons per year, that's nearly $200 in savings annually!

I prefer the milk from a local farm, but it's like $6 a gallon (100% worth it, it's amazing!) & a 45-minute drive (1.5-hour round trip), so unless I'm in the area to see a client, Walmart it is! lol.

While I have no health issues with milk, I do like the much lower water usage of this type of product then other kinds of plant milks.

I think that's what this stuff is made from (mostly):

I think it's really good in spaghetti and chili.

How is the sodium content of this product? I notice that many of these mock meats have rather high amounts of it.
Yeah, it's fairly high. 🙁 Wow, I just calculated it from that page, 1400mg/package! Edit: I should point out that I stretch that over 3 servings of chili, or 6 of spaghetti.

My personal opinion is that if I drink enough water - and I drink a lot - high sodium shouldn't be a problem. But I'm not a doctor, and that's probably at least somewhat wrong.

Good Grief that much sodium for only 10 oz of fake meat? That is way more then the Keystone 28 oz can chicken that I buy. It is only 100mg per serving and I mix that up with rice, barley, lentils. etc. And that will last me three to four days.
