it's 100% home made, 4 fans, clip on to the fanbus, and controlled by the baybus, w/ 4 switch and BLUE LEDS =) This rocks!!! My comp is now sooo quiet =)

Congrats to you, mine came out with out the leds.It does make sense to have all the fans controlled from a central spot, rather than have wires ran all over.I'm looking into the pots.I'm not sure what size pot could control say four fans.Fanbus.com has been a good link for sure.

hehe, took me a while too, and to figure out how to wire the circuit correctly, the LED takes 5v, so basically I had to superglue a small PCB board on the back of the baybus to.. better organize my thing.

I'm working on a cooling system controller. Has its own AC supply line and can control pumps, AC and DC fans, and a Peltier power supply without requiring ANY power form the computer's PS. Even has its own small on-board switching PS to run DC cooling fans (up to 12 watts of load total.) Only needs 5VDC @ 5-10 mA switched to turn on/off up to several thousand watts of AC load. Uses all solid-state relays for low-noise low-current operation and has its own RFI/EMI filter to trap line noise.

A few small switches on a blank drive faceplate is the only thing to advertise its presence. And, if I decide to go nuts I'll gert a BASIC Stamp and wire up an add-on board for the controller, and program it to run the cooling system automatically.

Best of all, the whole thing, controller, pump, fans, Peltier PSU, all of it, fits neatly INSIDE my Inwin Q600 tower. The computer will have two power cords - one for the computer and the other for the cooling system. Otherwise nothing sticks out of the case.

I'm doing an article on it for Overclockers.com.
