This damn 120mm Pana m1a is a little loud for my liking @ 12v, but not quite cutting it @ 7v, but would like to have it variable, thus dont want to use a resistor. Pot that will handle .45a @ 12v? :|

I don't know about 15 ohms though, think you want something along the lines of 50 to 100 ohms.

The reason I linked that rheo is it has similar specs to one I used in a case to control a high speed Sunon 120mm fan , it worked fine.
