"Yeah, I'm a thief but he's got child pron." **POLL**

You're a thief and you steal child porn filled CDs. Do you:

  • Report the pervert even though you may get locked up?

  • Burn the evidence of your and his crime?

  • Friend him on the child porn equivalent of FB?

  • Kill yourself because you're using up good air?

Guess that's one way to get out of a burglary charge.

Two burglars looking for blank CDs in California instead found a man’s child pornography stash and turned him in, Fox40 Sacramento reported Wednesday.
One juvenile and a 19-year-old broke into Kraig Stockard barn in Delhi, Calif., on Sept. 12 and stole 50 CD-Rs, which Stockard later reported stolen.
"I'm kind of surprised that he wanted to draw attention to himself, knowing what was taken," Deputy Tom McKenzie of the Merced County Sheriff's Department told Fox40.
When the pair took the CDs home to burn music, they discovered that more than 30 of them contained child porn.
They reported the contents of the discs to the sheriff’s department.
"[A] family member convinced the two suspects to come forward, they contacted law enforcement," McKenzie said.
Investigators served a search warrant on Stockard’s property and found three desktop computers and three laptops. It’s unknown what those computer contain, but authorities believe Stockard has been downloading the images and movies since 2004.
He was booked into jail for possession of child pornography and posted his $25,000 bail.
The two people that found the pornography were not arrested for the burglary.
"We did not actually go out and arrest the suspects for the burglary. They were obviously the lesser of two evils," McKenzie told Fox40.
The burglars' case has been turned over to the Merced County District Attorney’s Office for review.

i can agree to this

lol yeah i read that yesterday and wanted to post.

good for them for turning them in even at the risk of getting arrested.\

edit: should add a pole. who would turn in the guy and admit that they broke in and stole the cd's?

Fucking idiots, who breaks into a house to steal $5-10 worth of CDs?

Maybe they knew what was on them...

Glad to hear the pervert got caught.

The burglars should have spoken to a lawyer and gotten a grant of immunity before telling the cops about the kiddy pr0n.

Also, is there any realistic chance of convicting this guy? I feel like there might be chain of custody issues with the evidence when it was taken by a couple of thieves. I guess if he had CP on other computers in his house then he's screwed.

Who tf backs up their CP?
Brilliant plan.

Put it ALL on CDs and then if they ever bust you claim that those aren't your CDs and you were set up.

If the police found no CP on his home computers he would probably walk in this case due to how the 'evidence' was gathered.

i read a diffrent article yesterday. I think it said they found CP on his home computer also.

I fail to see how a pile of CDs that some thieves have is enough to convict some one. Couldn't anyone just burn some CP onto a CD and then claim they stole it from some one to get them sent to prison? Even if there story is true, that guy better have a bunch of shit on the PCs the police seized if they expect to have a case.

New way around having to get search warrants, just hire a couple of high school kids to break in instead.

And yes, who the fuck steals CD-Rs...what do those cost now $10 for 500?

I am sure they did, but I was making a joke and a point.

If everything was on CDs and nothing on the computer you could claim it wasn't yours and try to confuse the jury or something.

What do you do with 50 CDs of CP? I mean the answer i guess is kinda obvious (fap), but the logistics of that ...

When you think about it, it's kind of nice to see those two not only had morals, but were brave enough to face persecution to protect abused children.

Until they dust it for fingerprints and/or semen. Maybe you could explain away the fingerprints, but semen?

yeah 650x50=32,500 megs of CP? wow.

i agree. thats why i asked the OP to add a poll.

BTW what term do you use in an illegal porn case??

"The defendant was able to beat the charges" <-- nope
"The defendant is seeking his release." <-- nope
"The defendant is hoping he can get off." <-- nope

Strange how all the slang we use for being innocent can't be used in a porn case.
