my budget is around $200 (everything included, out of door price) I got a 98 Accord..I went to circuit city and AE sound...they recommended different CD player at my price range. At AE sound, they recommend me a Pioneer CD player...can't quite remember the model name...but it definitely looks cool. At circuit city, they recommend an Alpine CD player with out of door price of $215. What do you guys think? The alphine's style looks a little dated...but it has very good reputation (especially in car audio)...what do you guys suggest? Please give me some feedback!

I like my kenwood.

*shrug*

Check out crutchfield.com they are good to work with, prices are a little up there though.

Go with whatever has higher RMS power rating....and I'm guessing it'll be the pioneer since those are 50x4 .......I have a DEH2100(old) ...and its RMS is 22watts to each channel.......also plays CD-Rs really well.

yeah....I need something that don't bitch about my CD-R audio!! Which works better with CD-R? Alphine or Pioneer? Myabe I should ask which brand work like sh$t with CD-R since most cd-player don't seem to have this problem anymore.

1. Never buy from CC unless you already know what you're getting. Salespeople there are commission driven, not to mention disturbingly stupid.
2. Alpine makes fantastic amps but horrible HU's.

Check out The Good Guys; they have a good selection and tend to know what they're doing. Their installers are great too.

I'd personally go for a Kenwood if that's in your price range. Otherwise Pioneer is a decent choice.

Sorry, I disagree, i beilve Alpine makes some of the best high end consumers hus, and competition hus...
better then jvc, kenwood, pioneer, and sony.
although they do make some low end models for cheaper, but i belive the overall quality should still be better.
they made some of the BEST hus in the past, for example the 7909 which i have, and the new f1 which is the 2k version of the 7909 basically. although for $200 the best for the price might be a pioneer,

try the new pioneer mp3 hu.

As of amps, i believe there are alot of better amps then alpine in that price range, mtx, phonex gold, us acoustic, fosgate...personally i use ads and nak amps...

back in the 92, Alpine was most famous for their hu, and had one of the best evermade by them..

I have been playing around with a lot of models in several stores recently, and I think this Alpine is a probably a great value. It's the one I'm going to buy soon. It should be $199 + tax. (or $215 OTD)

PS, as far as a "dated style" goes, it isn't flashy. It's easy to use. That's good, and functional design is timeless.

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE ABOUT TO BUY A CAR STEREO AT CIRCUIT CITY!!!

That $200 at Circuit City is like $300-350 at cyberautosound.com, smilephotovideo.com, audionmore.com...

Order the damn stereo yourself and install it yourself you wussy! If you can't install it, find a friend who can!

I love my Pioneer DEH-P7300, thing rocks ass, I also just bought a DEH-P9300 but then some duchebag tried to rip off my7300 and failed but scratched the front face all to hell, but since I have a service plan on it I got it replaced with a 9300 (so now I have two) just gonna end up selling the 9300 for like $50 less (figure I got a good deal on the one I have now might as well pass it along).
