My company is even worse. We have a number of Directors who don't even have subordinates reporting to them.

At a previous company, we had 'Directors of Admission'; we called then DOA's. Totally fit them too. Probably some of the most brain dead people i have ever meet.

In the end, it was nothing more than a title. They get the term 'Director' in an official document and it's all over, the head gets all huge and ego driven.
