I lived in Oklahoma for 21 years straight and I've driven away from tornadoes, hid in bathtubs, etc. I can tell you, you get awful complacent living around them so long. Watching them touch down from your backyard is a great sight though.

<--- in Baldwin County. It didn't do anything here yesterday except rain a little but, but nothing like they had predicted. There was a tornado about 4 miles from my house last weekend though.

And to ConstipatedVigilante, tornadoes aren't a regular occurrence in Alabama.

I lived through a tornado when I was 16. Mom woke me up at 3am saying it was really bad outside. I told her go to bed, its just a storm, let me sleep. Two seconds later the air conditioner that was in my window blew into the room and hit my leg. I grabbed her and me and we stood in the bathroom shower. Loud noise, shaking, house moved, then silence. Walked outside and the house had been picked up and dropped on the foundation, crumbling it. Oak tree in back yard was on its side and their was a doghouse in the yard that belonged to the guy across the street about 200ft away. He had his dog chained to the dog house. Only the chain was left, nobody ever found the dog.

Wow that's scary. Sad about the dog.

That's when I realize a little snow and blizzards is not so bad after all. That said, the storm we're having now could stop any time.... I want a summer this year! All I ask for is 2 weeks of +20 and I'll be happy.
