It must be xmas. Well. DSL is going byebye, as the cable folks just left here. No self installs anymore for roadrunner though - what a crock. So I get ripped off on an install charge, but anyway.

The roadrunner guy made me laugh though. He said it should be able 10x faster than my DSL (768k). I laughed at him and said "Yeah, if the cable modem is uncapped maybe".

Anyway, question for those on roadrunner - I am getting an aweful lot of activity on the modem and my router's activity light (external-WAN side). Is this typical of roadrunner these days? It's almost constant activity.

I really like the DVR.

I record shows that I miss and watch them later. I don't have a clue though as to how many hours the DVR itself can hold. I have about three fighting PPVs that I recorded with the DVR.

My wife jumpped on a deal for the DVR - 2 months at $0.01 (a penny) each month, then $6.95/mo for a year after that. It'll prolly work out for me to watch all my SciFi shows later while my wife watches everything else. One definite plus though, picture quality is way better than the last digital box I had.

And cashman - it didn't always blink. I have had roadrunner 4 times in the past and most never did my activity light blink when I wasn't doing anything.
