This thread is the result of those driving schools taking the Wheels of Death movies and other gems of automotive filmmaking out of the curriculum.

haha this is funny...i should have used that when I got a ticket for a rolling stop..."but officer everyone else does it"

that would have saved me $140 traffic ticket, $50 for defensive driving and a couple hours of my life

if I had only known I could just tell the officer that

*points at you*

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Geez.. no one ever told you that for a road test, it doesn't MATTER what everyone in the REAL world does. It only matters that you follow the rules to the letter. You can do all sorts of crap AFTER you get your license.

I think I'm going to retake the test tomorrow (have a friend who I think will lend me his car for a couple hours, he owes me some favors). I am determined if I fail -- it will be because I am driving too slow. 15mph the whole way baby! Let's make that 15 minute drive into an hour long ordeal!

Also, I'd love to see one of those hidden camera shows hire a stunt drive and give one of those instrutors the ride of their life. Would be amusing to see the test result.

Umm... exactly where does this road test take you? If it's a residential area with 25mph, I know my instructor was anal about going 26mph so I stuck around 20mph. If it's a highway... umm.....

Both, sidestreets and main arteries (which are essentially highways in that part of town), and on the main arteries people were passing me despite my speeding . . .

EDIT : When I say sidestreet your probably thinking 1 or 2 lane street with cars parked on the side with residental housing to the sides. This is *NOT* the type of sidestreet i'm talking about. The sidestreets we're talking about are between an interstate and some run down factories, with WIDE berths between the road and the lots since they're made to accomidate trucks. Not a single person (or car) in sight . . .

Instead of going 15 mph everywhere, why don't you *gasp* follow the limit, and *gosh* STOP at a stop sign?

23 and you can't do something any half-brained 16 does? hah

yeah, you're a failure. You didn't do anything listed by the rules. That's what a test is about. I don't care how much of a gray-haired-driver it makes you... you have to follow the rules for the driving test.

BTW, I failed my written test the first time around... took it again 15 minutes later without cracking the book (still)... and passed it. What a joke. Goes to show you it's pointless. Driving by the rules (which everyone should know) isn't hard.
