Yay, it's another "build me a pc" thread!

Alright so I've been outta the game for a while. Last build I did was with an AMD 64 3700+ with a gfx card that I can't even remember (7800Gs maybe).

I need a completely new setup including a monitor, keyboard, mouse, case, CPU, motherboard, etc.. The whole shebang for around $1300.

This will be to play Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Diablo 3, and other FPS (metro 2033 looks interesting.. )

So since I've been outta the game for a while and don't know who is better (well besides it's best to go with intel at this point), what is the best you can come up with? Monitor preference is 22"-24" and at least 1080p. Everything else, including case, I have no preferences...

Either will be fine. 3570K performs slightly better and consumes less power, and it's compatible with PCIe 3.0 but that's largely irrelevant because the CPU itself will probably become a bottleneck sooner than the PCIe 2.0 bandwidth

Agree. They are equally good values in terms of performance per dollar. Neither one is the "wrong" choice, feel free to go with the i5 2500K if you want to save a little money.
