Don't worry, I did my research and I figured the Ipod Nano was the best choice for me. I'm gonna be using it while I jog in the morning. NO I DONT WANT A ZUNE @!$!@#$@!$ :p

Same here, but it also accepts upto like 2GB (afaik) microSD chips.

I'm still happy with my 1st gen Nano..scratches and all. It's still the easiest player to navigate. Normally I'm one to run away from the bandwagon.

Was it at least on sale? Normally they're so much more expensive than their equally good (but less trendy) counterparts.

I had an 80gb video ipod, took EXTREMELY good care of it, dropped it ONCE and the screen turned solid white. I'll never buy one again.

But congrats on the new ipod OP, just don't drop it. Ever.

I've got nothing against the iPod but iTunes really annoys the crap out of me. I have a first-gen Shuffle (gift) and I use the 'Convert High Bitrate files to 128kbps AAC' option (to maximize the number of songs it can hold) - for some reason, just plugging the player into my computer causes iTunes to resync a dozen random songs (convert them and copy them all over again) for no reason.

Hate to mention Microsoft in an Apple-related thread but I had a generic no-name mp3 player before and I preferred how WMP synced with it.

Edit: And yeah, I've dropped the player several times. It's a good thing it doesn't have a screen. ;)

I've had two iPods. My first one was a 2nd Generation 30 gig, I was mowing in the rain one time, and it ended up breaking. I spent $20 or so to fix it, they gave me a new one. Now, I have a 40 gig video, i've ran it over with the lawn mower countless times, and it still works. I'm still in the market for a zune, though. I hate iTunes.

Two things. If it locks up, press the middle button and up to reset.

If you're on a windows machine and iTunes says that your ipod looks like it's in recovery mode, it isn't. XP sometimes has issues, and you'll need to reassign the drive letter for your ipod. (This usually happens when you're in a rush and don't have time to play around with it)

I didn't have any problems with iTunes when I first got the Shuffle (which must have been 15+ months ago). The thing seems to get buggier with updates. And I really love how Apple doesn't believe in incremental auto-updates: new bug fix? Download the ~50MB installer. That's just plain awesome.
