Yay, I got a job.

I now work at Intel. Start on Thursday.

Yes, it's just a Packaging/Warehouse job, but I'm still going to have a lot of fun telling people that I work at Intel. 😀

Shift is from 5:20AM to 2:50PM. :Q Ugh. That's the ony thing that is going to drive me insane. Almost completely opposite my natural schedule... swing shift would have been much better. Oh well, hopefully I'll get used to it. And I have a ~45 minute commute.

Yay to getting up at 3:30AM. :Q Thta means I'm going to have to go to bed at 7:30PM to get 8 hours of sleep. WTF? I'm not going to be tired at 7:30PM nomatter what time I get up in the morning, lol.

Wish I could really be happy about it. I mean I am, but ...

Everything in life seems so pointless without a significant other. Seriously, it's weird. I want to be able to look at things like I did before I met her, but that seems impossible. I guess after 4 years with someone, it's going to take a while to "find myself" again. Oh well, maybe the job will help me do that.

Wish me luck... New jobs are always nerve wracking to me for some reason.

good luck.

After my 5 1/2 yearrelationship with my ex fell apart, it was rough, but given time you will find it's all for the best. I'm happier know than I ever was before.

good luck Eli, all around.

maybe you'll meet the girl of your dreams at the new job. 🙂
Heh....

Somehow I doubt there are a lot of females working at Intel, but I could be wrong.. lol

Congrats!

I was in the same situation a while ago. Dated her for 4 years and everything felt weird after we broke up. Took me a while to get over it but MAN its worth it! EVERYTHING is going right, I got a nice job with nice pay that i love to do.

Btw, I know someone will ask sooner or later...but how much does intel pay for a shift like that?

I feel you big time Eli, just broke up with someone I was with for 2 years and knew 5 before that.

Thing's are *not* the same!!!!! There's most certainly a heightened sense of futility without a partner in everything you do.

Best of luck to you with your new job and breakup. One day at a time, things will even out and you'll find a new groove.

Going to sleep at a crappy tme will phase you for a bit but once you fall into a routine it gets natural. I worked nightshift and it took me about a week or 2 to get really used to going to sleep at 8 in the morning everyday.

They've got a stick up their ass when it comes to sh!t like that.

I know how you feel, I leave Thanksgiving day for my new position there in your fair city... It's a very very long ways away from home..

I think alot of people have been there. Don't worry, someone will come along when you least expect it. Hang in there on your first day and good luck with that timing!

Alot of people on the boards finding new jobs. Congats & good luck to everyone else. Make sure to buy me a sandwich when you see me. 🙂

I don't think so, heh.. the commute will be killer, but only because I have a gas hog of an automobile. I plan on buying something more fuel efficient ASAP.

Ha, I wish. 😛

It's not a whole lot above minimum wage, which is 7.25 here in Oregon.

Remember that this is an entry level position, although they encourage experience in light industrial which I have. Probably why I got the job so easily.

Congrats and best wishes on forgetting the Ex.

One thing that will help is when you meet a new girl that knocks your socks off.
