I've been in this apartment in Colorado for nearly 2 weeks and I've been living off my company Sprint aircard. Only marginally better than dialup.
Comcast installed my cable 2 days ago. I got around to activating the moden yesterday.
Today I went to Office Depot and bought a new G router... A Linksys with the VOIP phone ports in it. $129 paid, - $10 off next purchase (they have a desk I want for $79), - $50 rebate for signing up with Vonage which I'll be doing next week once I get some $$ in my PayPal account (to use my debit card).
So after digesting a huge Maggianos dinner (paid for by my company) along with too many Cap'n&Cokes I hooked up the router.
I've gotta say, the $42 a month Comcast is charging seemed steep. But the subjective speed blows away my $35 a month Adelphia connection I had in Anaheim, CA. And that's comparing direct ethernet connect speeds.
I feel better now.
