Yay for you! So, what kind of nursing do you want to do?

I've had a lot of medical procedures, and I have to say that guy nurses are my favorite. They always take pity on me because I'm a big wuss when it comes to IVs. ;)

Are you still planning to work in the ER, or are you heading to another area?

To answer both your questions I'm staying/working in the ER. I love where I work, Level One Trauma, inner city environment, we train roughly 60% of Michigan's ER docs, and it provides a great level of autonomy and interaction between the nurses and doctors. It's not uncommon for the nurses and doctors and resident to go out to the bar after work and just eat, drink a little and talk...you don't find that level of closeness often. And it is to the extent that most of the doctors I work with I'm on a first name basis with(as in dont call me doctor, call me Jeff, or Pat etc) So yea, ER in downtown Detroit is where I stay :)

Congrats!

Last time I was in the ER was when I split my lip open (got smacked in the mouth by my surfboard a number of years ago). Anyway, there was some woman in there who had glass in her eye and she was giving the nursing staff there a really difficult time. Why some people seem to go out of their way to piss off the people who are there to help them is beyond me...

I graduatued yesterday:). The ceremony was a waste, however. They keynote speaker (the guy who invented that laptop with a crank for use in no energy communties) took hos time to not talk about graduating, but talk about his own agenda. Also, what sucks is that they spend 45 minutes giving out honory degrees and 30 minutes giving out degrees to the students (and they do it is the most rushed fasion). I felt bad for my parents b/c they sat through that and I felt even worse for my gf parents b/c they travaled from Florida to sit thourgh this.
