Never thought it would happen this fast in Karachi Pakistan 🙂 Still lagging behind; I'm paying 70$ for it. No bandwidth caps, and I can finally watch youtube vids without having to wait for them to buffer 🙂

My first thoughts here was 'Great, now Dell tech support will switch to VOIP.' Can you imagine the poor quality, cutting in and out, with thick accents?

But seriously, good for you. That's a pretty steep price though!

yeah prices are still very steep. my parents get 2mbps for $60 in delhi, but its capped at 6GB/month

What was your connection before? If you were on dial up, good gawd that must seem like light years faster. I remember when we got our 768kbps DSL and I thought man I'm cruising now!

HAH. Good luck with that -- I can't do it on my 1.5mbps connection in New York...

That's awesome.

"The hardest part of the whole operation was installing Windows XP on Sigbritt's computer"

^^ That made me lol

I'm stuck with wildblue 1000/200. Its $70/month. Its horrible. The download/upload speeds are up to par. But for the love of God, going from website to site is worse than dial up. Its also very unreliable. As soon the contract is over I'm done with it.

Is there any filters on your connection since you are in pakistan. Like no porn or non-muslim type stuff?

Lagging behind? 1MB is three times faster than the standard connection here in Toronto. Ok so it's more expensive but you're paying twice as much for 3x the internet. Not bad at all I'd say.

I don't think so. They had blocked blogspot for a while but it's back on.

I'm going from 512/512 to 1000/256 so it's a downgrade in a way. But it's also cheaper 😛

I have wildblue; it's been relatively reliable for me. Latency is unavoidable with it though.

I miss unlimited 100mbps $30/month serive.

Damn where was that?

Japan and some Scandinavian countries (such as Sweden) have 100mbit connections for very little. I think Japan is even starting to introduce gigabit connections.

It's most likely "inside the country speed", because outside the country let's say downloads, are much slower.
I have 3mb/764kbps verizon internet connection. I pay around 60 bucks. But if I could get a cable, then it would be 10mb connection for only like 40 bucks.

S. Korea.
It's 100Mbps for both upload/download as well. Not only that, it comes to certain stuffs(such as a LCD monitor, mp3 player...etc.) when you sign up due to the tight compatition.
