Picked up an Xbox with 2 controllers, 3 games(Halo, Shenmue 2, NCAA Football 2k3) for $200. I already have a Gamecube and (3) Dreamcast(s), along with a GBA. I wanted to get something else, and I liked the Xbox over the PS2 for a while now, so I ended up with that. So far, I really like Halo and Shenmue II is awesome, and seems like just the sequel I hoped it would be. NCAA football I got for cheap so eh. I prefer NFL2K3 on my Gamecube. Also, based on those games I do not see how "completely mind blowing" the graphics of the Xbox are compared to say Gamecube. Metroid Prime looks better than Halo to me but I guess that's an unfair comparison because Metroid came out a year later. I hear Panzer Dragoon Orta has awesome graphics so I'll see if all this talk about "best graphics" really has any merit when I pick it up next week. But whatever, graphics are secondary to gameplay to me, so that doesn't matter. What cool stuff can I do with my new XBOX?

Anyway, this is turning out to be like the million other "I got Xbox" threads on ATOT, so why not spruce it up a bit. Who is your favorite DOA girl? I like Kasumi.
 
Make sure you get the xbox live online kit! You can then take on people and trash talk them. I'm a huge sports fan so i'm waiting for the hockey and basketball games to come out this fall for xbox.
 
Mechassault for the single player definately. The online play is also pretty good, but I would finish single player so you get to play with the better mechs. Otherwise you will get owned in live play.

I am playing Splinter Cell now, got it for 29.99 at target last night. I am stuck in the police station, the game is fairly hard on the normal level. Great game though, reminds me of Thief on the pc.

Wanted to add that NCAA Football 2004 is very excellent, only bad part is they cannot use the player names and just call numbers instead. It captures the spirit of college football very well.

 
i got a xbox couple days ago too

i bought the following games so far.... NBA2k3, NFL2K3, and NBA street Vol. 2

I want to get midnight racing 2 and Moto GP. Those are the only games that appeal to me right now.. just waiting for the new wave of games to come out.
 
I'm waiting for ESPN (NFL2k4) because I have always been a Sega fan and the product just looks even better. If I don't like it then I will pick up Madden. I really like World Series Baseball. RTCW got boring too quickly but its still an awesome Live game.
 
How the hell do you guys play Halo, RTCW, Unreal Championship with that Xbox controller? I'm so use to the keyboard/mouse combo that I can't get used to playing FPS with a fvcking controller.

Unfortunatly, no. I want to be able to play on LIVE when I get my DSL and not have to worry about the hole modding mess. If the modding scene get's interesting, I might buy a second one and mod it, but so far all I see are emulators that are also available to play onmy unmodded Dreamcast.
 
you dont even need to open it up to mod it anymore, there are bootdiscs.
want to play live, dont boot with the mod disc. and no i dont know where you can get it.

Anyays, I don't want to bother with boot discs and such. I just want to play a bunch of cool games and not have to bother with illegally booting the Xbox in a state which it is not supposed to booted.
 
I like playing my games with a nice pair of headphones, because I can't hear very well otherwise. So no DD 5.1 🙁 Plus, I'd rather buy a whole bunch of games than getting a DD setup. I am not an audio....whore.
 
Star Wars: KOTOR is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

forget Morrowind, put the money towards getting KOTOR, it's SOOOO much better. Even if you're not a Star Wars fanatic (like me) you'll still love the game.

1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Great game, ton of fun and one of the deepest game, worth playing more then once.

2. Halo - Reminds me of Half-Life, just as good, dislike the control but the game is superior. Believe the hype.

3. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 - What more can I say. Extremely fun even after four releases.

4. MLB High Heat 2004 - Best out of all the baseball games available.

5. NBA 2K3 - Pwns NBA Live 2003 in everyway.
